To gather ideas for our music video i watched music videos that the foals have created to give us an idea as to what other music videos of our genre are like. We hoped that this would be able to give us an idea about costume, props, editing, effects and miss en scene to help us with genre. The videos i watched were My Number, Inhaler and Spanish Sahara.
As the screen Shots show the videos i watched appeared to be very similar. The screenshots I took shows a use of close up shots of the lead singer. These types of shots appear to be a recurring theme within Foals music video's which grants food for thought as we can either follow the trend set by the Foals or we could go our separate ways and try to be a bit different and unique with or music video.
As these are all video's are from the same band, the video's will all have the same genre, analysing these music video's can help us when it comes to identifying the genre conventions that come with music video's, such as bright clothing and vibrant colours being used. Foals use a mixture between narrative and band performance in their music video's, we will adopt a similar theme as we too will be using both narrative and performance.
